WASHINGTON, DC — Rep. Chip Roy (TX-21) issued the following statement after voting against H.R. 1669, the “VET–TEC Authorization Act of 2023”:

“Merits of the VA VET-TEC program aside, it is absurd that we are “paying” to expand a veterans program by raising VA home loan fees on veterans years down the line – that’s no way to do business.

We should absolutely support those who sacrificed for our republic, but we need to do it the right way, not by relying on budget gimmicks that increase fees on veterans.”
