Senator Pete Flores, who represents Texas’ 24th Senate district, has used his social media platform to highlight recent legislative actions in the state. In a series of posts made between August 11 and August 13, 2025, Flores discussed new laws affecting veterans, disaster preparedness efforts, and the outcomes of a special legislative session.
On August 11, Flores posted: “ICYMI: New laws passed this year will cut red tape and expand access to resources for those who’ve served. We will always honor the service, sacrifice, and strength of our veterans. #txlege https://t.co/O8THwSkUWu”
The following day, he shared an update from the Senate floor: “On the Senate floor today, working to pass legislation that strengthens Texas’ preparedness, response, and recovery efforts, especially for communities impacted by recent disasters. #txlege https://t.co/cuL9pdo6Lr” (August 12).
Flores continued on August 13 with a summary of legislative achievements during the special session: “This special session, the Texas Senate delivered on important priorities—cutting property taxes, strengthening disaster preparedness, and more. Flores was elected as a Republican to represent District 24 in the Texas State Senate in 2023. He succeeded Dawn Buckingham in this role.
