As other major pipelines face legal issues, Kinder Morgan is continuing on with its plans.

According to Environmental Health News, last month 36,000 gallons of drilling fluid was released into the ground as Kinder established a construction site for the Permian Highway Pipeline, a natural gas line that spans across 42 inches.

Kinder Morgan’s project faced challenges from government officials and conservative groups as a Hill Country lawsuit battled the company, the Railroad Commission of Texas, and the Army Corps of Engineers. Still, Kinder Morgan started construction in 2019 with more than half of the first 100 miles reaching completion status in December.

Across the country, Keystone XL and the Atlantic Coast Pipeline are just a couple of the well-known pipelines that have been stalled or canceled due to legal action.
