AUSTIN ISD: Austin ISD Pride Week

Volunteer

Austin ISD issued the following announcement.

Every year, Austin ISD hosts its own pride week, a time to celebrate LGBTQIA + students, staff and families and showcase the district's commitment to creating a safe, supportive and inclusive environment.

This year, due to changes in the school calendar, the AISD Pride Week Planning Committee has received approval to move this weeklong event from the fall semester to April 19-23, 2021. This will give the committee time to plan a comprehensive event that celebrates our LGBTQIA + community and includes a possible in-person Saturday event at the Austin ISD Performing Arts Center, depending on up-to-date Covid guidelines (date TBD). This week also aligns with GLSEN's student-led National Day of Silence on Friday, April 23.

Campuses may plan activities that engage, educate and inspire. If you have any questions regarding planning activities or for assistance in selecting resources that best fit your school community, please contact your campus GSA coordinator. Download the following print posters and sticker templates to display during Pride Week and throughout the year:

  • AISD Pride poster - Arabic
  • AISD Pride poster - English
  • AISD Pride poster - Spanish
  • AISD Pride poster - Vietnamese
  • AISD Pride poster - Burmese
  • AISD Pride poster - Pashto
  • AISD Pride sticker
  • AISD Pride Poster - German
  • AISD Ally sticker
Our participation in the annual Austin Pride Parade will resume in August of 2021 to continue to increase the visibility of AISD as a district that welcomes students, in a safe, supportive learning environment. Experience the video of the event.
