AUSTIN ISD: Pay Increase for our Team AISD Substitutes!

Result

Austin ISD issued the following announcement.

Dear Team AISD,

Through a year of tremendous change and growth, our substitutes have been a vital part of the success of our students, district and community. We are excited to offer a pay increase for substitute teachers and substitute teacher assistants.

We continue to recruit incredible talent into AISD to serve as substitutes, but we need the help of our AISD family to expand our reach. If you know someone who would excel in a substitute role in AISD, please share this information and encourage them to apply online.

Beginning Nov. 16, 2020, the base rate of pay per day for substitute teachers will be:

  • $150 for permanent teacher substitutes at underperforming schools.
  • $135 for certified substitute teachers.
  • $125 for degreed substitute teachers.
  • $115 for substitute teachers with 60+ college hours.
The base rate of pay per day for substitute teacher assistants will be:

  • $115 for permanent teacher assistant substitutes at underperforming schools.
  • $105 for certified substitute teacher assistants.
  • $100 for degreed substitute teacher assistants.
  • $95 for substitute teacher assistants with 60+ college hours.
  • $85 for substitute teacher assistants with a high school diploma/GED.
This base rate increase, along with our highly competitive incentives, means that substitute teachers in AISD can earn up to $210 a day!

Learn more about this increase and incentives at www.austinisd.org/subs. If you have any questions, please reach out through Let’s Talk.

Sincerely,

Austin ISD Substitute Services
