Johnson City ISD Education: 697 students were enrolled in schools in 2021-22 school year

There were 697 students enrolled in Johnson City ISD schools in the 2021-22 school year, 13.5% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2021-22 school year, 51.1% of them were boys, and 48.9% were girls.

Data also shows that the majority of students were white, representing 68.6% of the Johnson City ISD total enrollment.

Johnson City ISD roughly covers schools within Blanco County with its main office in Johnson City.

Among the three schools in Johnson City ISD, Lyndon B. Johnson Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of 287 students in the 2021-22 school year.

Education in Texas is often a hot button issue, especially as test scores lag behind other states.

"The problems commonly cited are flaws in the school financing system, relatively low teacher salary, poor test performance by students... dropouts from traditional schools in favor of charter schools... gun violence, and mental health issues," claimed the Texas Almanac.
