Enrollment Analysis: white students comprised 41.7% of Doss Consolidated CSD schools' student body in 2021-22 school year

There were 10 white students enrolled in Doss Consolidated CSD schools in the 2021-22 school year, 100% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Doss Consolidated CSD schools welcomed 24 students during the 2021-22 school year. Among them, white students comprised 41.7% of the student body to be one of the least represented ethnicities in the district.

Doss Consolidated CSD roughly covers schools within Gillespie County and has a main office in Doss.

Doss Elementary School was the only school in the district which enrolled white students, welcoming 10 students in the 2021-22 school year.

Education in Texas is often a hot button issue, especially as test scores lag behind other states.

"The problems commonly cited are flaws in the school financing system, relatively low teacher salary, poor test performance by students... dropouts from traditional schools in favor of charter schools... gun violence, and mental health issues," claimed the Texas Almanac.
