Washington, DC - Representative Chip Roy of Texas has officially endorsed Byron Donalds from Florida for the position of Speaker of the House. In a statement released on Monday, Roy expressed his belief that Donalds is the strong leader that Republicans need.

Roy has been vocal about the need for fundamental change in Washington since his election in 2018. He initially nominated Jim Jordan for Minority Leader, but now believes that Donalds is the candidate who can bring about the necessary transformation.

Last January, Roy nominated Donalds for Speaker along with 19 other colleagues, calling for an end to the status quo and a fight for transformational change. Over the past 10 months, Roy and Donalds have worked with Speaker McCarthy to achieve significant accomplishments. This includes reopening the legislative process, passing a robust border security bill, cutting spending through the Limit, Save, Grow Act, and more.

Now, Roy believes it is time to finish the job and cement these victories for America. As Speaker of the House, Donalds will focus on key priorities such as cutting spending, securing the border, ensuring accountability for Ukraine funding, ending woke culture at the Pentagon, and honoring the transformative changes made in January to open the People's House.

Roy described Donalds as a strong communicator with a conservative voting record. He highlighted Donalds' ability to bring together members from across the Republican conference to advance conservative priorities. Roy emphasized that he plans to hold Speaker Donalds accountable to these priorities, just as he did with Speaker McCarthy.

"The American people deserve to win again," Roy stated. "They deserve someone who can finish the job we started back in January. They deserve a change, and Byron Donalds is the man to deliver that change."
