There were 3,094 students enrolled in Fredericksburg ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 0.9% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 50.9% of them were boys, and 49.1% were girls.

Data also shows that the majority of students were Hispanic, representing 50.9% of the Fredericksburg ISD total enrollment.

Fredericksburg ISD roughly covers schools within Gillespie County with its main office in Fredericksburg.

Among the six schools in Fredericksburg ISD, Fredericksburg High School recorded the highest enrollment of 1,003 students in the 2022-23 school year.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
