There were 552 students enrolled in Brackett ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 3.8% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 52.2% of them were boys, and 47.8% were girls.

Data also shows that the majority of students were Hispanic, representing 73.4% of the Brackett ISD total enrollment.

Brackett ISD roughly covers schools within Kinney County with its main office in Brackettville.

Among the three schools in Brackett ISD, Jones Elementary/Intermediate School recorded the highest enrollment of 266 students in the 2022-23 school year.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
