How many Hispanic students were enrolled in Center Point ISD schools in 2022-23 school year?

There were 348 Hispanic students enrolled in Center Point ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 9.8% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Center Point ISD schools welcomed 549 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, Hispanic students comprised 63.4% of the student body to be one of the most represented ethnicities in the district.

Center Point ISD roughly covers schools within Kerr County and has a main office in Center Point.

Among the three schools in Center Point ISD schools, Center Point Elementary recorded the highest enrollment of Hispanic students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of 168 students.

Education in Texas is often a hot button issue, especially as test scores lag behind other states.

"The problems commonly cited are flaws in the school financing system, relatively low teacher salary, poor test performance by students... dropouts from traditional schools in favor of charter schools... gun violence, and mental health issues," claimed the Texas Almanac.
