Representative Chip Roy from Texas has responded to a recent Supreme Court decision that permits Virginia to eliminate 1,500 non-citizen voters from its electoral rolls. In his statement, Rep. Roy described the court's decision as "the only defensible position" despite objections from the Biden-Harris administration and opposition from three justices.

Rep. Roy emphasized that this issue should not arise in the first place. He highlighted that the Republican-controlled House had passed his proposed legislation, known as the SAVE Act (H.R. 8281), in July. This act mandates proof of citizenship for voting in federal elections and ensures states maintain their voter rolls through Election Day.
