On Tuesday, Representative Chip Roy from Texas called on the Biden administration to maintain all records and evidence concerning unaccompanied alien children who have entered the United States. This demand was directed towards the Departments of Health and Human Services (HHS) and Homeland Security (DHS).

Representative Roy stated, "The Biden-Harris Administration’s reckless, open-borders policies have led to record-breaking numbers of unaccompanied alien children (UAC) arriving at the southwest border." He highlighted that under this administration, HHS has reportedly lost track of approximately 150,000 UACs. These minors' whereabouts and well-being remain unknown amidst other allegations of abuse and inadequate vetting.

Roy also referenced findings by the DHS Office of the Inspector General. The report indicated that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), under President Biden's leadership, failed to issue court appearance notices to over 320,000 UACs. This oversight reduced ICE's ability to contact these individuals after they left HHS custody, impacting efforts to verify their safety.

"These troubling reports warrant scrupulous oversight," Representative Roy emphasized. He urged for measures to prevent any destruction of relevant documents or communications related to this matter.
