Rep. Chip Roy of Texas has expressed approval following the House's passage of H.R. 23, titled "The Illegitimate Court Counteraction Act." The legislation aims to hold the International Criminal Court (ICC) accountable for its actions against Israel and to ensure repercussions for targeting American servicemembers or allies.

Roy stated, "I am pleased the House passed, my bill H.R. 23 'The Illegitimate Court Counteraction Act' to hold the ICC accountable for targeting Israel and ensure they will face consequences for going after American servicemembers or our allies."

He emphasized that the bill is designed to protect the sovereignty of America and its allies from what he described as a "rogue, globalist court." Roy criticized the ICC's investigation and arrest warrants issued against Israel's Prime Minister as an attack on a key ally amid ongoing conflicts with Hamas. He warned that unchecked actions by the ICC could lead to future targeting of American service members and veterans.

Roy acknowledged support from Chairman Mast and Senator Cotton, highlighting bipartisan backing with contributions from 45 Democrats. He expressed anticipation for swift Senate action on H.R. 23, aiming for it to reach the President's desk soon.
