Rep. Chip Roy released a statement on Thursday in response to reports that President Trump is planning to pardon pro-life advocates who have been prosecuted by the Department of Justice.

"It is tremendous news to hear the news that President Trump will soon pardon the brave pro-life Americans who were unjustly targeted by Biden’s weaponized DOJ," Congressman Roy said. He described these individuals as "peaceful, pro-life Americans" and emphasized they were targeted solely for their beliefs.

Roy also highlighted the need for legislative action, urging Congress to repeal the FACE Act. "This is a tremendous step towards righting the wrongs done under Biden, but Congress must also take the step to repeal the FACE act to ensure it can never again be weaponized by a future administration," he stated. He referenced his previous efforts alongside Sen. Mike Lee to introduce legislation aimed at repealing this law.

According to Roy, 97% of FACE Act prosecutions from 1994 to 2024 were against pro-life Americans. He concluded by calling for H.R. 589 to be put on the President's desk as a means to resolve this issue permanently.
