Congressman Chip Roy of Texas has expressed his approval of the Trump administration's decision to terminate President Biden's abortion travel fund at the Pentagon. In a statement, Rep. Roy described the move as a correction of what he sees as past mistakes made by the previous administration.
"This is an important move from Secretary Hegseth and President Trump to right the myriad wrongs of the Biden administration; the American people never should have had to cover the tab for abortion tourism in the military," said Rep. Roy.
Rep. Roy acknowledged his collaboration with fellow Texans Beth Van Duyne and Ronny Jackson in efforts to defund what he referred to as an "illegal policy" under Biden's tenure. He also commended Senator Tuberville for his resistance against significant pressure during this process.
"This has been a long time coming. I was proud to work with my fellow Texans Beth Van Duyne and Ronny Jackson is leading the effort to defund this illegal policy under the Biden Administration. Senator Tuberville especially deserves commendation for his efforts to fight it and for standing up to the immense pressure he faced in the process. Congress should back up the administration and codify this change into law permanently," added Rep. Roy.
