Wes Virdell, a Republican elected in 2025 to represent Texas’s 53rd House district, has recently used his social media platform to address political issues including gerrymandering and party accountability.

On August 16, 2025, Virdell posted: “I agree with @jamestalarico that we need to end the corrupt political gerrymandering. States like Illinois and California have some of the most egregious gerrymandering in the country and I expect the Democrats to publicly call it out since they are so opposed to it.”

Three days later, on August 19, 2025, he published two more posts. The first stated: “I agree 1000%”. Later that day, he wrote: “We all know what happened!”

Virdell succeeded Andrew Murr as representative for Texas’s 53rd House district following his election in 2025.
