Wes Virdell, a Republican elected in 2025 to represent Texas’s 53rd House district, has recently posted several statements on his social media account addressing national political issues and expressing views on recent events.
On October 15, 2025, Virdell questioned the impact of the ongoing federal government shutdown by asking, “Has anybody else noticed we are doing just fine with the federal government shutdown?”
Two days later, on October 17, he commented on political rhetoric and historical actions associated with the Democratic Party. In his post, Virdell stated: “This quote by the dem doesn’t make sense.

Virdell succeeded Andrew Murr as representative for Texas’s 53rd House district after winning election in 2025.
