Shortly after, at 01:49 UTC, Virdell posted a statement regarding firearms knowledge: “Tell me you don’t know anything about guns or gun laws without telling me you don’t know anything about guns or gun laws.”
Later that day at 20:43 UTC, he acknowledged Secretary Scott Turner’s visit to Kerr County and highlighted Turner’s public service background. Virdell wrote: “Thank you @SecretaryTurner for visiting Kerr County this week. The Hill Country appreciates your support.

Virdell was elected in 2025 as a Republican to represent Texas’ 53rd House district, succeeding Andrew Murr.
