Austin Community College issued the following announcement on April 22.
Austin Community College’s (ACC) Peace and Conflict Studies program goes virtual Friday, April 24, from noon to 1:15 p.m for a webinar on “Peace in Relationships: Leveraging Conflict for a Happier Life During and After the Pandemic.”
The event includes a conversation with Dr. Duana Welch, author of the “Love Factually” series.
Welch will discuss science-based perspectives on how to leverage conflict for a happier life during and after the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Attendees will learn how individuals can cope with these emergent stresses and conflicts on topics including:
- What do people—including romantic partners—tend to argue about?
- Can you solve all your differences?
- Why do happy couples have more conflict than those who are struggling?
- What does healthy conflict look like?
- And how can you turn your inevitable conflicts in almost any relationship into emotional closeness rather than distance?
Hosted by ACC's Center for Peace and Conflict Studies and ACC’s Student Psychology Club, the event is free and open to the public. The event will be hosted online, through WebEx. To register, visit bit.ly/PeaceInRelationships.
