Cost of college went up for all students at Schreiner University

Tuition and fees rose 3.9 percent for 2018-19 at Schreiner University, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Texas students paid $27,960 to attend the four-year private not-for-profit institution this year – $1,060 more than the $26,900 charged for 2017-18.

Data shows 98 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 331 students received grants or scholarships totaling $5.5 million and 244 students took out student loans totaling more than $2.7 million.

Including all undergraduates (1,418), 1,178 students used grants or scholarships totaling $18.1 million, and 816 students took out $7.4 million in federal student loans.
