There were 399 students enrolled in Sabinal ISD schools in the 2021-22 school year, 6.3% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2021-22 school year, 51.9% of them were boys, and 48.1% were girls.

Data also shows that the majority of students were Hispanic, representing 85.5% of the Sabinal ISD total enrollment.

Sabinal ISD roughly covers schools within Uvalde County with its main office in Sabinal.

Among the three schools in Sabinal ISD, Sabinal Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of 176 students in the 2021-22 school year.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
