There were 4,116 students enrolled in Uvalde CISD schools in the 2021-22 school year, 0.8% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2021-22 school year, 50.3% of them were girls, and 49.7% were boys.

Data also shows that the majority of students were Hispanic, representing 90.5% of the Uvalde CISD total enrollment.

Uvalde CISD roughly covers schools within Uvalde County with its main office in Uvalde.

Among the eight schools in Uvalde CISD, Uvalde High School recorded the highest enrollment of 1,160 students in the 2021-22 school year.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
