There were 9,870 students enrolled in San Felipe-Del Rio CISD schools in the 2021-22 school year, a slight decrease from the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2021-22 school year, 50.7% of them were boys, and 49.3% were girls.

Data also shows that the majority of students were Hispanic, representing 93.2% of the San Felipe-Del Rio CISD total enrollment.

San Felipe-Del Rio CISD roughly covers schools within Val Verde County with its main office in Del Rio.

Among the 15 schools in San Felipe-Del Rio CISD, Del Rio High School recorded the highest enrollment of 2,366 students in the 2021-22 school year.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
