Nueces Canyon CISD Education: 254 students were enrolled in schools in 2021-22 school year

There were 254 students enrolled in Nueces Canyon CISD schools in the 2021-22 school year, 2.3% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2021-22 school year, 52.8% of them were boys, and 47.2% were girls.

Data also shows that the majority of students were white, representing 57.5% of the Nueces Canyon CISD total enrollment.

Nueces Canyon CISD roughly covers schools within Edwards County with its main office in Barksdale.

Among the two schools in Nueces Canyon CISD, Nueces Canyon Junior High/High School recorded the highest enrollment of 127 students in the 2021-22 school year.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
