Johnson City ISD schools Education: 478 white students were enrolled in schools in 2021-22 school year

There were 478 white students enrolled in Johnson City ISD schools in the 2021-22 school year, 11.2% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Johnson City ISD schools welcomed 697 students during the 2021-22 school year. Among them, white students comprised 68.6% of the student body to be one of the most represented ethnicities in the district.

Johnson City ISD roughly covers schools within Blanco County and has a main office in Johnson City.

Among the three schools in Johnson City ISD schools, Lyndon B. Johnson Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of white students in the 2021-22 school year, with a total of 193 students.

Education in Texas is often a hot button issue, especially as test scores lag behind other states.

"The problems commonly cited are flaws in the school financing system, relatively low teacher salary, poor test performance by students... dropouts from traditional schools in favor of charter schools... gun violence, and mental health issues," claimed the Texas Almanac.
