How many American Indian students were enrolled in Burnet CISD schools in 2021-22 school year?

There were 15 American Indian students enrolled in Burnet CISD schools in the 2021-22 school year, 7.1% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Burnet CISD schools welcomed 3,277 students during the 2021-22 school year. Among them, American Indian students comprised 0.5% of the student body to be one of the least represented ethnicities in the district.

Burnet CISD roughly covers schools within Burnet County and has a main office in Burnet.

Among the six schools in Burnet CISD schools, Shady Grove Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of American Indian students in the 2021-22 school year, with a total of four students.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
