There were 722 students enrolled in Johnson City ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 3.6% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 51.1% of them were boys, and 48.9% were girls.

Data also shows that the majority of students were white, representing 67.2% of the Johnson City ISD total enrollment.

Johnson City ISD roughly covers schools within Blanco County with its main office in Johnson City.

Among the three schools in Johnson City ISD, Lyndon B. Johnson Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of 304 students in the 2022-23 school year.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
