Kerrville ISD welcomed 4,878 students in 2022-23 school year

There were 4,878 students enrolled in Kerrville ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 1.3% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 51.2% of them were boys, and 48.8% were girls.

The most represented ethnicity among Kerrville ISD students was white, accounting for 49.3% of the student population.

Kerrville ISD roughly covers schools within Kerr County with its main office in Kerrville.

Among the eight schools in Kerrville ISD, Tivy High School recorded the highest enrollment of 1,468 students in the 2022-23 school year.

Education in Texas is often a hot button issue, especially as test scores lag behind other states.

"The problems commonly cited are flaws in the school financing system, relatively low teacher salary, poor test performance by students... dropouts from traditional schools in favor of charter schools... gun violence, and mental health issues," claimed the Texas Almanac.
