There were 139 students enrolled in Richland Springs ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 14.9% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 53.2% of them were boys, and 46.8% were girls.

Data also shows that the majority of students were white, representing 84.2% of the Richland Springs ISD total enrollment.

Richland Springs ISD roughly covers schools within San Saba County with its main office in Richland Springs.

Education in Texas is often a hot button issue, especially as test scores lag behind other states.

"The problems commonly cited are flaws in the school financing system, relatively low teacher salary, poor test performance by students... dropouts from traditional schools in favor of charter schools... gun violence, and mental health issues," claimed the Texas Almanac.
