There were 9,947 students enrolled in San Felipe-Del Rio CISD schools in 2022-23 school year

There were 9,947 students enrolled in San Felipe-Del Rio CISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 0.8% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 50.9% of them were boys, and 49.1% were girls.

Data also shows that the majority of students were Hispanic, representing 93.1% of the San Felipe-Del Rio CISD total enrollment.

San Felipe-Del Rio CISD roughly covers schools within Val Verde County with its main office in Del Rio.

Among the 14 schools in San Felipe-Del Rio CISD, Del Rio High School recorded the highest enrollment of 2,470 students in the 2022-23 school year.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
