There were two American Indian students enrolled in Blanco ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, the same number as the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Blanco ISD schools welcomed 1,088 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, American Indian students comprised 0.2% of the student body to be one of the least represented ethnicities in the district.

Blanco ISD roughly covers schools within Blanco County and has a main office in Blanco.

Among the three schools in Blanco ISD schools, Blanco Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of American Indian students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of one student.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
