Enrollment Analysis: American Indian students comprised 0.5% of Burnet CISD schools' student body in 2022-23 school year

There were 15 American Indian students enrolled in Burnet CISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, the same number as the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Burnet CISD schools welcomed 3,304 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, American Indian students comprised 0.5% of the student body to be one of the least represented ethnicities in the district.

Burnet CISD roughly covers schools within Burnet County and has a main office in Burnet.

Among the six schools in Burnet CISD schools, Burnet Middle School recorded the highest enrollment of American Indian students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of four students.

Texas is found to be one of the least-educated states in the U.S. A study from WalletHub ranked Texas 41st out of 50 states in terms of the quality of the educational system and how successful students were.

More than 5.4 million students are enrolled in public schools across Texas. Nearly one million of them live in rural areas where options for local public schools are few and far between.
