Marble Falls ISD schools Education: 64 African American students were enrolled in schools in 2022-23 school year

There were 64 African American students enrolled in Marble Falls ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 4.5% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Marble Falls ISD schools welcomed 4,063 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, African American students comprised 1.6% of the student body to be one of the least represented ethnicities in the district.

Marble Falls ISD roughly covers schools within Burnet County and has a main office in Marble Falls.

Among the seven schools in Marble Falls ISD schools, Marble Falls Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of African American students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of 22 students.

Education in Texas is often a hot button issue, especially as test scores lag behind other states.

"The problems commonly cited are flaws in the school financing system, relatively low teacher salary, poor test performance by students... dropouts from traditional schools in favor of charter schools... gun violence, and mental health issues," claimed the Texas Almanac.
