There were 71 Hispanic students enrolled in Hunt ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 9% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Hunt ISD schools welcomed 202 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, Hispanic students comprised 35.1% of the student body to be one of the most represented ethnicities in the district.

Hunt ISD roughly covers schools within Kerr County and has a main office in Hunt.

Hunt School was the only school in the district which enrolled Hispanic students, welcoming 71 students in the 2022-23 school year.

Education in Texas is often a hot button issue, especially as test scores lag behind other states.

"The problems commonly cited are flaws in the school financing system, relatively low teacher salary, poor test performance by students... dropouts from traditional schools in favor of charter schools... gun violence, and mental health issues," claimed the Texas Almanac.
