SABINAL ISD: Confirmed COVID-19 Positive Case on High School Campus

Coviddddd

Sabinal ISD issued the following announcement.

This is an official notice regarding a high school student that tested positive for COVID-19 on November 16, 2020 but has not been in attendance at school since November 09, 2020.

Due to privacy requirements, we cannot release the name of the individual or details that may identify this person.

The local health authority, Dr. Reading has advised us that since the student symptoms did not develop until November 12, 2020 that the risk of exposure is "low."

Due to the length of time since this student was last on campus, we have been advised that this situation does not warrant any quarantine of students and staff.

All families who have a child connected to this situation will be contacted.

We will keep all other stakeholders apprised if the situation changes.

We ask that you, as always, to watch for symptoms of COVID-19:

 Temperature of 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit or higher when taken by mouth;

 Sore throat;

 New uncontrolled cough that causes difficulty breathing (or, for students with a chronic allergic/asthmatic cough, a change in their cough from baseline);

 Diarrhea, vomiting, or abdominal pain; or

 New onset of severe headache, especially with a fever.

We ask that any individual who is experiencing any of these symptoms to contact their physician, and to not come to school. Furthermore, we ask that if you know of any person associated with Sabinal ISD that is lab-confirmed to have COVID-19 to please notify our school nurse, Cecilia Reyes at 830-988-2436.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our school nurse, Cecilia Reyes at 830-988- 2436
