More than two dozen food banks have received $26,000 in donations from the Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA), including Burnet County.

A press release from the LCRA states it donated $1,000 to 26 food banks to help provide food for people in need.

“This year has been one of the extraordinary challenges,” LCRA General Manager Phil Wilson said. “The need for help continues to rise, especially during the holidays, and food banks across our region are working hard to provide for people and families through these difficult times. We are pleased to be able to help support their important work.”

Other recipient food banks are located in Bastrop, Burleson, Caldwell, DeWitt, Colorado, Gonzales, Hays, Fayette, Lampasas, Lee, Llano, Mills, San Saba, Waller, Washington Wharton, Tom Green, McCulloch, Mason and Kimblec ounties.

The LCRA produces and delivers electric power throughout Texas by managing the lower Colorado River.
