Richland Springs ISD issued the following announcement.
A child has only one shot at an education. Parent support and involvement is crucial at both school and at home. Today’s students are our hope for the future. Let’s work together to make their future bright!
It’s hard to believe it is already the fifth week of school. Time seems to fly by once school starts. The school day starts at 7:45 and ends at 4:15. Please drive slowly through campus when picking-up or dropping-off schoolchildren. The safety of our children is our #1 concern.
Patriot Day occurs on September 11 of each year, designated in memory of the nearly three thousand who died in the September 11, 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center twin towers. School flags are normally flown at half-mast and students observe a moment of silence beginning at 8:46 a.m., marking the first plane crash on Sept 11, 2001. This year’s observance falls on Thursday.
Last Friday night the junior high squad outscored Austin Royal’s junior high team 27-21 and move to 1-0 on the season. The varsity Coyotes outscored Austin Royals 55-8 and won by the 45 point mercy rule in the 3rd quarter of play. The varsity moves to 1-0 on the season. Both the junior high and varsity squads travel to Throckmorton this Thursday to play the Crowell Wildcats. The junior high game begins at 5:00 with the varsity game to follow.
We have a great community, students, teachers and staff. It’s great to see our community supporting students in their efforts to achieve. It takes everyone working together to achieve success. Thanks for all you do!
Community involvement is the key to our success!
