RICHLAND SPRINGS ISD: Coyote Pride Nov. 18, 2020

Announce

Richland Springs ISD issued the following announcement.

Change is inevitable. We transitioned to a 4 day school week this year, with Mondays off. We’ve transition from asynchronous learning last spring, to all students returning for face-to-face instruction as the new school year began, back to asynchronous learning, and back to face-to-face instruction again. Face-to-face instruction with the teacher and social interaction in the classroom is the preferred method of instruction for educating our students. What we have all learned during this pandemic is the ability to adapt to change. The only thing constant this year will be change. Students and staff will complete the week ending November 20th, then have a week off for Thanksgiving, then 3 more weeks of school until Christmas break and the end of the fall semester. Time flies!

All three school districts in San Saba County receive COVID case updates from Marsha Hardy, Emergency Management Coordinator for San Saba County. We currently have 37 active cases in San Saba County. With each update to schools, Marsha Hardy includes this message: “Simply: wash your hands, wear your mask, pay attention to your surroundings and, mostly, be kind!” We all need to hear kind words in these stressful times.

READERS ARE LEADERS! These students have met their goals for the 2nd 6 weeks and were rewarded with ice cream, games, and prizes on Friday, November 13 in the Library during their recess. Congratulations to Ezmirelda Ledesma, Riot Leon, Kase Moreno, Melany Oyervides, Angel Cervantes, Brylee Chandler, Edgar Flores, Druscilla Hoevers, Jensen Jones, Xavier Martinez, Clayton McCoury, Karime Oyervides, Cecilia Tavera, Brinlyn Wilbanks, Graecyn Younggreen,  Makayla Kubin, Samantha Ledesma, Janie Mata, Harlee Moreno, Mia Tharp, Paige Bailey, Emma Bryant, Ava Hoevers, Jazmarie Mata, Ian Mckinnerney, Dalton Moats, and Adriana Torres. READERS ARE LEADERS!

The Lady Coyotes began regular season with a scrimmage win over the San Saba JV girls. The Lady Coyotes hosted Strawn at Richland Springs gym on Tuesday, November 17, and will travel to Lipan on November 21.  Come out and watch our young athletes in action; you won’t be disappointed!

Last Friday night the varsity Coyotes defeated the Blanket Tigers 56-30 in the bidistrict round at Zephyr ISD stadium. The varsity Coyotes advance to the Area round of the playoffs against Oglesby at Hico ISD stadium Friday, November 20th at 7:00 p.m. Adults $5/Students $5.

If you can’t make it to the game, listen to the Coyote varsity games on the worldwide web at http://www.sansabaradio.com/.
