Richland Springs ISD issued the following announcement.
Dear Parents,
It’s almost here. The first day of class is Friday, August 7, and it is just around the corner! We cannot wait to have our kids back on campus! We miss them!!
In the state of Texas, parents have the right to keep their child home for remote instruction or send them to campus for face to face instruction. We are asking parents to inform the district, as soon as possible, about your decision for your children. Here are a few things to consider as you make your decision:
- Students who choose remote learning will be required to engage daily with their teacher. Failure to do so will result in an absence. Absences will be counted as stated in school policy.
- Students who choose remote learning will be required to turn in work as scheduled. Any late work will be penalized as stated in school policy.
- Students who choose remote learning will not be eligible to participate in extra-curricular activities, such as football or other school activities and student groups.
- Once parents select an instructional model, the student will remain in that setting until the end of the six week grading period.
Thanks for all you do as parents to support your child and Richland Springs ISD. We understand these are trying times; our goal, as always, is student safety and success! Let me know if you have any questions or if there is anything I can help you with.
I look forward to hearing from you!
